Connecting WooCommerce with Odoo ERP for American Colors

The Requirement
American Colors required more than a conventional product website. The company already managed its operational product information through Odoo ERP and needed a customer-facing WooCommerce platform that could work directly with that existing business system.
The website needed to support a large B2B product catalog with categories, search, filtering, variations, customer accounts, controlled product pricing, downloadable resources and an order-based enquiry process. Most importantly, product information should not need to be maintained separately in Odoo and WordPress, and website orders should not need to be manually recreated inside the ERP.
Solution Delivered
Auspian developed a WordPress and WooCommerce B2B product platform integrated with Odoo ERP through a custom integration layer. Odoo remains connected to the operational side of the business, while WooCommerce provides customers with a structured and familiar product browsing and ordering experience.
The integration synchronizes product information including product names, SKUs, descriptions, images, pricing, stock availability, attributes and product variations from Odoo into WooCommerce. Existing products can be updated automatically while Odoo product identifiers help prevent duplicate WooCommerce records.
The workflow also operates in the opposite direction. When a customer selects products and submits an order through WooCommerce, the relevant order information can be synchronized back into Odoo ERP, allowing the internal team to continue processing the requirement through its established business workflow.
Scheduled synchronization, integration logging, failed-sync monitoring and retry functionality were incorporated to make the connection more practical for ongoing business use.
